The Ultimate Guide to Tipping Your Wedding Vendors

Hello beautiful friends! Welcome to my blog where we chat a little about me and all about weddings! Recently I’ve had several brides ask me “Do I need to tip that vendor?”, my response is always “Do you feel like they did exceptional work and you want to give them an extra thank you?” Your wedding day should be all about you and your fiancé, these vendors work to make you as the couple as happy as you can be! If you feel like a few or all of your vendors did exceptional work and just got you – then I suggest a tip or a nice gift. If you have a more reserved budget, a hand written thank you notes goes a LONG way as well!
Here is a list of my suggested tip amount per vendor. Always remember this is YOUR wedding and you should tip them the amount that you believe they should receive.
Main Venue Contact: $200-$300
Note: Some venues are not allowed to take an additional tip.
Photographer: 10% of their fee
Videographer: 10% of their fee
Florist: 10% of their fee
Wedding Planner: 10% of their fee
Band or DJ: $25 per musician or $100 for 1 DJ
Catering Manager: $200
Waitstaff: $25/waiter
Bartenders: $50/bartender
Hair & makeup: 10-15%
Vallet: $1/car
Officiant: A donation to the church
Again, when it comes to tipping, a nice gift or hand written letter is also appreciated from every wedding vendor. We love to know that you are so happy with your overall wedding day.
