Happy Friday, friends!

Can you believe it's already March?! I'm still amazed it's 2019! This year has started out with a bang and I'm getting so excited for my spring weddings that will be here before we know it!

Today I am excited to show you Hailey & Nick's wedding from the end of 2018 in Fairhope, Alabama at Oak Hollow. WOW. It was beautiful! We had a blast at this destination style wedding last fall and the photos are simply amazing. Fun fact about Oak Hollow, the T.V. Show Sweet Home Alabama was actually filmed at the spot that Hailey & Nick said their I Do's! Hailey had a specific vision for her wedding day and let me tell you, it all was perfect!

Bride Hailey had two looks for her wedding day, which is always one of my favorite things! She had a beautiful classic ivory skin gown for her ceremony and then did a quick change which surprised everyone! She changed into a gorgeous mermaid style dress from Bella's Bridal for the reception! Hailey & Nick's reception was a blast! Their guests were ready to party and even broke into a train around the entire venue. It was a blast!

Enjoy this gorgeousness from Black Mountain Photography. Cheers to Mr & Mrs!

xoxo,

Kendal

Hello sweet friends!

Last year will hold a very special place in my heart as it was my first year as a business owner in the wedding world. Looking back at the year as a whole I am taken back with all the love and support from friends, family and clients. Not expecting to be apart of too many beautiful bride's wedding days, I absolutely exceeding my expectations and was able to help TEN brides and grooms become husband and wife.

I wanted to share some of my favorite moments of a few wedding days with you! Take a look at what my team and I had the pleasure of working on this past year!

Favorite Wedding Gown

The best wedding gown goes to sweet bride Christen who wore an incredible Randy Fenoli from Bella's Bridal. Christen looked amazing in her ballgown with an incredible train which was a show-stopper at her ceremony.

Favorite Venue

You guessed it, Pursell Farms. The property is absoutely breathtaking which makes the design elements incredibly easy! The immaculate green grass and beautiful all white ballroom is the perfect back drop for any wedding. Leslie & Josh became husband and wife outside near the lake with their reception following inside the stunning ballroom. I love that at this venue, you have several options for the ceremony and reception! I can't wait to go back with Pursell in just a few weeks!

Favorite Reception

Let me tell you about Elizabeth & Joe's wedding! They had a blast with their friends and family and it was seriously the most beautiful night. These two knew how to have fun and so did their guests which made their reception dance floor stay packed all night. These two got married on the terrace at Vulcan with their reception in the Electra room. Vulcan will always be one of my favorite places to work!

Favorite Decor

Meredith & Kevin had the most beautiful decor and I absolutely loved it. My associate planner, Erin, spent the day with Meredith as they decorated the City Club into her perfect ceremony and reception space. Her floral design from Rita with RD Designs was incredible!

Favorite Ceremony

Oh these two. Amanda and Hunter had the sweetest and most beautiful wedding ceremony at Ephesians Farms. The land at this venue is breathtaking and so natural. We decorated the altar to create a picturesque background for the couple as they said their vows. Their love for each other and for God was shown during the entire wedding day and it will always be one of my favorites.

I hope you loved some of my favorite moments of 2018! I can't wait for the new weddings I have the opportunity of  working with, Cheers to an amazing year!!

Kendal

Hey ladies! We  know in the midst of all of the planning and festivities, there is always several tasks that need to be dealt with before the big day. One of the most stressful and off-putting tasks is the dreaded guest list that leaves you with questions like, “Who do I invite?”, “Should I allow a plus one and hope people don’t bring 5 friends with them?” And our personal favorite “ We were friends in middle school but I haven’t talked to her in years, should I invite her anyways!?”

You are not the only bride on the planet asking yourself these questions! We have put together a list of the dos and don’ts of creating that stress free guest list.

1.Do consider your venue size: If you and your fiancé must invite a certain number of guests, make sure your venue of choice can accommodate them comfortably. This includes accommodations for both the ceremony and reception.

2.Don’t start a list without deciding on a budget first. This will help you determine how much you have set aside and how many guests you can invite. Intimate weddings aren’t always budget friendlier the more elaborate weddings, so calculate all of your expenses and compare the costs.

3. Do write down all of your guests and divide the names into the following groups: Family, Friends, Coworkers, Other Social Groups. Once you have jotted down all of your potential guests, now you can start considering additional guests like children, significant others, and unexpected guests. Yes, you read that correctly. Like it or not, uninvited guests is wedding day mishap that your amazing wedding planner will make sure to prepare for. Discuss this situation with your wedding planner and have a plan such as a few empty seats and extra food just in case!

4. Don’t let others guilt you into adding guests to your list. This is YOUR day and it should be celebrated with the ones you and your fiancé hold dearest!

5. Do HAVE FUN! This is such a fun season and should not be filled with stress and worry. Make sure to prioritize and set aside time to work on the guest list. Don’t try to do it all in one sitting. If your feel overwhelmed or unsure of what to do, ask your wedding planner and let them take the stress off of you!

We hope that if you are in the midst of planning your BIG DAY that you take our tips on how to create a stress free guest list to heart! We truly believe that these tips will ensure a stress FREE guest list creating experience!

Kendal

Hello beautiful brides! I hope y'all are enjoying the engaged life! One of my favorite things in life is helping you sweet brides marry the love of your life, obviously! That's why I do what I do. I absolutely love to see the reaction on your face when you tell me your engagement story and even we book the perfect florist! But one of the most special days of your wedding planning journey is choosing your wedding gown. I want to give you a few tips on wedding dress shopping because I totally understand how making all of these decisions can easily become overwhelming.

First, set your budget for your wedding gown. I suggest you spend about 10% of your overall wedding budget on your wedding gown, veil, accessories and alterations. Next, do a little research on bridal gown designers and their prices. Pinterest is a FUN website, however if you only "shop" on Pinterest you could be a little disappointed when going to bridal boutiques near you. Most of the dresses pinned on Pinterest are incredible and usually have a pretty high price tag! If you have a high budget for a dress, that's awesome! Definitely find the store that will best suite you. After finding the designers you like within your budget, locate the boutique that carries the designer you like.

After finding the local shops, call and make an appointment! I always recommend making an appointment to try on bridal gowns, because not every store allows "walk-ins". This way you can feel totally prepared for your shopping experience and so can the consultant who assists you. When shopping for the dress, have an open mind! It's great you've done your research so you have a little direction but still stay open to other styles and details. Your wedding dress is completely different than ANY other dress you've ever worn in your life so definitely try on a few different styles until you find the right fit.

I suggest you go to 2-3 bridal shops and don't be shocked if you find it at your first shop! When you try on more than that, they all seem to run together and you get confused and even more overwhelmed which is definitely not good. You can get exhausted from trying on so many and end up just choosing one to be done with the process, which is not ideal! Once you try on THE DRESS, you will know. You will be able to see yourself getting married to your fiancé and sometimes you may get emotional. After finding THE DRESS, be prepared to purchase. Most bridal shops require a deposit to get your dress ordered, which can take 5-7 months, so be prepared to place that order.

Lastly, CELEBRATE! You've checked something off of your list! Congratulations!! Now you can shop for the perfect bridesmaids dresses and choose the best colors for your big day!

xoxo,

Kendal

Hello loves!

Today I want to chat with you about some of my favorite wedding venues in Birmingham. Your wedding day is the most important day of your life and you want to make sure that every single thing you've ever envisioned is perfect! There are countless wedding venues in Birmingham and I've had the pleasure to work at several and excited for the new venues I get to see this year!

There are a few venues that I cant wait to return to because of their beautiful scenery and amazing accommodations! Starting off my favorite list is Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, Alabama. Oh how I love Aldridge Gardens! It is breathtaking with it's natural beauty and the photo opportunities are endless! They have a beautiful lake with green field leading up to it and just over the lake are gorgeous woods for the more outdoorsy bride. Of course they have seasonal blooms which is beautiful for any wedding!

My next hot-spot wedding venue in Birmingham is Vulcan. The view is priceless! With wonderful indoor and outdoor accommodations for your guests, you will not be disappointed with choosing Vulcan for your wedding venue. Most brides choose to have the wedding ceremony on their terrace overlooking downtown Birmingham and follow with a reception in the Electra room. I love the staff at Vulcan and how they are always available to assist you and even offer to open the entire park for your guests! You can ride to the top of Vulcan as many times as you want to overlook downtown and take a tour through their museum to learn more about our amazing city. Elizabeth and Joe tied the knot at Vulcan last September, for more photos from their big day check out their blog!

Third, I adore the Barn at Shady Lane. For a more rustic bride with still some classic vibes, the Barn at Shady Lane is the perfect wedding venue. They have a beautiful outdoor location for your ceremony with a large indoor, air-conditioned barn for the reception. The owners of the Barn are always so attentive and truly love the couple's who get married at their beautiful venue. I'm looking forward to my wedding there this spring!

Last, but definitely not least, is Pursell Farms in Sylacauga, Alabama. Just a quick drive to HWY 280, this beautiful venue offers more than you could ever imagine. Their beautiful Ballroom at Hamilton Place is breathtaking. They have a beautiful lake in front of their venue for the ceremony with a courtyard connecting the ballroom and bridal house. Your guests are in for a treat when choosing Pursell for your perfect day! For more stunning photos from a recent wedding at Pursell Farms, click here.
