Guest Blog Series | Birmingham Wedding Photographers | Katie & Cindy Photography
Hello friends!! Welcome back to my guest blog series of a few of my favorite wedding photographers in Birmingham! Today please meet Katie & Cindy!! These two are absolutely precious and an amazing duo for your wedding day. I had the pleasure of working with Katie & Cindy on a styled shoot in Birmingham and as you can imagine, it was beyond beautiful. Enjoy meeting this adorable mother/daughter duo!
1. How long have you been apart of the wedding industry as a photographer?
We have been in the wedding industry for about 3+ years.
2. Did you always know that you wanted to photograph weddings?
We had no idea that we wanted to photograph weddings until my own wedding about 4 years ago. Cindy was a nanny for children of teachers and her own grandkids and I was still struggling to find my ultimate passion in life. I knew that I loved photography and writing and I had dreamt of becoming a photojournalist for National Geographic, however, after my wedding, I realized how much fun they could be to photograph1 Cindy, my mom, loved photography and photographed us often when my siblings and I were kids.
3. On wedding day, what is your favorite thing or part of the day to photograph?
On the wedding day, my favorite thing to photograph is the sunset portraits of the newly introduced bride and groom. It’s such a happy and emotional time for the two and I love capturing that. Cindy loves capturing the bride in all her glory! She loves the intimate shots of her getting ready and the bridal shots before the ceremony. There's nothing more beautiful than a bride deep in thought of the what the future holds for her and her new life!
4. Who is your ideal client?
Our ideal client is someone who is just as excited as we are about having those portraits for years to come. We love when our couples exuberate excitement and love for each other because we want them to look at their portraits later and (and be able to re-live that moment forever) remember what an incredible day their wedding was.
5. What advice would you give a future bride?
The advice we would give our future brides is to enjoy every moment. We know first hand how quickly time passes in these moments and we want our couples to try not to stress about every single detail. We also enjoy helping with anything we can so we love for our couples to reach out to us for anything they might be questioning. Whether it be timing of the ceremony or styling choices, we want our couples to know that their wedding is just as important to us as it is to them!
