Guest Blog Series | Birmingham Wedding Photographers | Katie & Alec

Hello friends! Today on the guest blog series, meet Katie & Alec Photography! This married couple is so precious and quite entertaining! I’ve had the pleasure to work with Katie & Alec and they make your wedding day fun and relaxed. Enjoy getting to know them <3

How long have you been apart of the wedding industry as a photographer?

We shot our first wedding together back in 2012 through Alec’s personal photography company. We officially launched Katie & Alec together in 2014 after we got married!

Did you always know that you wanted to photograph weddings?

Actually, no. Alec has always loved shooting and started out photographing everything her could. He went to college and studied art & photography. Katie on the other hand thought she wanted to work in the health industry with eating disorder patients. After the first wedding we shot she said she’d never do it again. Then we booked one more and she was hooked from that moment on!

On wedding day, what is your favorite thing or part of the day to photograph?

Alec absolutely loves ceremonies & any emotional moments. Give him something heartfelt & candid. Katie on the other hand is all about the bride getting ready. Being one of the first people to see her in her wedding dress always makes her emotional!

Who is your ideal client?

We say we’re for fun, laid-back couples who believe in marriage. Ultimately, we want to champion people through the process so they can focus on the most important thing, their marriage. We love people who value that above everything else and who are excited about photography.

What advice would you give a future bride?

Don’t feel like it has to be stressful. Everyone talks about planning like you have to be frantic and stressed the whole time. That’s not true! This time is really you prepping for your marriage as much as it is you planning for the wedding. Focus on that!

Take time to just be thankful for every step of the process and if it’s not fun, try to see if you can delegate that task to your planner or friends. People want to help make this time special for you. Plus, your vendors are there to help make sure everything goes smoothly too.

hello loves!

Welcome to the KP blog! My name is Kendal and I’m so happy you’re here. It’s been my dream for quite some time to own a wedding planning company and now the time has finally arrived! I am certain that this will be the best journey in life and I’m so excited to finally show you what we’ve been working on for the past few months! Take a look around, love. I can’t wait to meet you!
