Recently I’ve had many friends and clients asking me when they should have each specific vendor booked for their wedding day. I have put together a quick timeline as a reference for your wedding planning journey. If you want a full planning wedding planner, go ahead and BOOK HER! First things first, book your venue. After booking the venue you will be able to really decide on the overall look and feel for your wedding day. Most venues in Birmingham book up about 1 year in advance from your event day.

Next, book your photographer. Typically photographers book 9-12 months in advance to your wedding day. Next, caterer and florist! Good thing about most caterers and florists, they can take multiple events on one weekend. These vendors should be booked 9 months in advance to your wedding day.

On the list next, get your wedding dress! Yay! So exciting! Most bridal gowns take between 5-7 months to be ordered, so make sure you get it with plenty of time to get alterations as well if needed. After picking out your dress, it’s perfect timing to go ahead and start looking at bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen attire.

Another fun vendor to book- your band! Start researching bands or DJs and find the best fit to your wedding.

After you get all of these big items checked off the list, the little things start falling into place. Go ahead and book your honeymoon, get your passport, buy your wedding bands, and find the perfect invitations! Quickly everything will be complete and you can finally RELAX.
